I apologize if this same info has been shared. I did not read all comments.

please don't worry. I am in the same spot you speak off...now 9 months pregnant with 2nd child..and married. Just keep some light inside that's what I do. I don't even know what things make me happy anymore..but for some reason I keep moving forward. There is something somewhere. somehow. we just have to find it....even if it take so long. We both will run up on it in time...like I said. somehow . some way .
I am not a stay at home mother even though I am being forced to it at this point.
I love working.
But like it said somehow someway.
The site looks much better. I like the fact it is easier to view the products as well.
I just re-read your original post. 'I believe it is a great company, and after failure in my life it is going to be what redeems me as a person.'
You have five beautiful kids, a beautiful wife, and a sixth child on the way. You serve in our military protecting my rights as a citizen. (Thank You) This is not failure. You may be struggling and you may be facing large debt but never confuse success and failure by the size of your checkbook.
in response to dogeatdog...I just want to say I am glad for your comments. It had bothered me as well and I have reconfigured it. Check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks again
in response to Safeteekids...I would never suggest the wounded warriors be used as a marketing ploy. However, it is something you support therefore there is nothing wrong with giving them free advertising on your site. Heck it can be considered a write off come tax time as well.
Check into going to trade shows, flee markets etc, etc as well. It is cheaper advertising than paying a search engine. Additionally, in the future as you begin to build sales it will be easier to obtain investors if you choose to go that route.
Lastly, if there is anything about this idea that can be patented, you are going to want to do that.
in response to dogeatdog...Thank you for the suggestions. I will definitely look at that. One of the things I wanted to do when we got up and really running was to have someone revamp the website. I did the site completely which for myself a non computer friendly person I feel I really made strides, but I did agree it was something I wish I had the money to do. On wounded warriors I have emailed a local talk show here who runs a wounded warrior program and I dont want to use it until I am actually doing it. I thought that at that time it would be cool to post photos of them and let them right their thoughts too. It is really going to be exciting I just need to make it there! Thank you
in response to Bee's Knees...Thank you for all the feed back. I didnt want to make the wounded arriors a focus as a marketing ploy, but it has gotten to a point where I do want people to know what the goals are. If I dont work hard and we dont accomplish this its my fault, so as much as i didnt i did because its more than just a company to me. thanks again
I am a big supporter of wounded warriors. It is a charity I added to my yearly donation list last year.
As for your business, I like the idea. I think your website needs some work. I know that costs money, however, I think there are some things you can do at no cost. First thing I would suggest is changing the color scheme on the home page. It isn't very easy on the eyes and it is more about you rather than your product. If I came across it by accident I would think it was a blog. Additionally, your phone number in the homepage gets lost in the colors as well.
I do like the color scheme in the buy it now section. Maybe you should utilize that scheme throughout the site. I would put your write up on the homepage under an about us link.
I am pretty stressed. I have started a new company and to get it going I am going further in debt. I believe it is a great company, and after failure in my life it is going to be what redeems me as a person. I dont need money I just want people to see what we have to offer. I want people to spread the word, and help me to get back on track in life. I have a dream in life to provide for my family more than my little military salary and give to my kids things that they cant have. The most important being that my wife can stay at home to help grow our soon to be 6 kids. My goal in this is to produce enough business to hire wounded warriors to fully staff the production because they need to get back on track just like I do. Please help me. Go to www.safeteekids.com and see more about me and my family, we are all there! thank you
I write this letter with hopes that someone who reads this will have a heart and do something. I am a retired veteran who attends the Fayetteville VA hospital. I have had my rights violated and have tried to talk with the director of the VA hospital I even requested a formal investigation to be done by Washington through my congressman and nothing has happened except my va claim has come to a complete stand still. Retaliation I think so. I don't understand how I can be transported to the hospital to Emergency and then have a VA cop write charges on me for parking a car illegally and I was not driving, who was well it was a 24 year disabled retired Veteran driving his vehicle but somehow you say DMV gave you my name and address wow my 2 year old could have caome up with a better lie. so I took it to my congressman with all the proof that it was a false report(so much JAG would not even let it go to court they dropped it) and the cop oh he still works there laughing at me when he sees me Talking about abusing power. Now my compensation claim is stalled on someones desk awaiting a decision since August 8. Did the request a phone inquiry and it was ignored. It is amazing to me that a woman can be raped in the military and when they gey out the system rapes them all over again. Men still run it all and if you try to fight for your rights they stone wall you just violating you all over again. Then to and injury to insult you send me emails about what you are doing for veterans, I didnt get my retroactive stop loss cause no one in Fayetteville knew or at least that is what I was told and My TSGLI claim oh my primary VA doctor told me ther VA doesn't do these( but you are my doctor) I could not even get them to accept my records from Ft Bliss claiming it was too much to send. Around and around we go and you wonder why Veterans are homeless and why they are committing suicide? Please stop spending money saying you are gonna do right by veterans and just do it. Stop paying all these so called helpers at the call center for the VA what for to stall veterans and give the people working the cases more people to help solve these claims. Its sad when you go to war just to come home and realize I helped fight your war and now I have to fight another war to be able to survive with my children. Oh yeah and your retirement pay for soldiers who get hurt but don't have 20 years or more is the Slap in the face and Stab in the back it gives me about $574 but because the VA gives me a little over $400 right now I get a whole $100 from the Army and I am supposed to live off of that. I can't work anymore and this is what you call supporting the veterans, where is my support OH Yeah sitting on someones desk in WInston-Salem VA STILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL waiting for a decision.... I sit around and on nights like tonight I wonder if I was to go stand in front of the VA and kill myself will that make it easier on my children maybe then the government will see that my benefits come so my children can survive. So I ask this to you all When you sit at you expensive tables in your big houses and parade around on TV in your nice clothes and you are making these budgets to keep the rich richer and the poor poorer, do you wonder where you would be if I were you and you were me? I DIDN'T THINK SO.

in response to NavyVet...X-Corpsman from the `nam era 90% compensated. They cannot help out those that put their necks on the line? I guess I'll join the wall-street protest while they are kicking me out of my home and on the street.
I noticed you posted a couple of months back have you gotten the help you needed.I am going thorough the same problems as you with the military pushing situations under the rug. My husband proudly served in Afghanistan and suffered from PTSD including suicide attempts. They won't help us instead they decided to chapter him out without giving him mental treatment and I have been to IG and the commander herself. I am also pleading with you and sympathize completely I also thank you for serving and am great sorry for your troubles your going through. What I was advise to do in my situation was to go through a independant from JAG that represents the soldiers called Trial Defense services. If you haven't already tried them. They will at least give you advice as to who can help you. My prayers are with you and I hope you got the help you deserve and if not I hope that this helps. May god bless you.

i am 24 with two beautiful 3 year old twin girls I am a full time student just graduated from an associates degree starting my bachelors. I am military spouse of a war vet. The past year of our lives have been a downslope of bad things in our lives. My husband and I have really bad credit and 3 months ago we were waiting for base housing and living in a weekly and CPS took our girls. I was diagnoses bipolar in my late teens and anxiety disorder I take medication and I am like every normal person. CPS thought that because of my disibilities, and the living situation. I made the mistake of telling the investigator that I tried marijuana at 15 which in turn put me in the hospital because of anxiety that I thought was a heart attack. which lead me to hair folicle tests and everything else. When i was told the two things in my life that i love more than the world and never has left my side werent going to be there anymore I did not have enough heart breakking emotions to handle that. When my husabnd went to afghanistan for a year I did not have any help to raise little girls. It was stressful but i would have wanted it any other way
I thank GOd Everyday my mom just moved to houston from Vegas due to the economy and she has them. Our children are everything to us and in order to get them back we have to finish this family plan but that involves weekly drug test which is a waste of taxpayers dollars because we dont take drugs, N/A meetings individual counseling sessions, and parenting class
we had bought a car off of my uncle for 600 and because it had ben sitting for five years we put our saving which was $2,000 in that car. About a couple of weeks ago my husband and i were on our way to one of the appointments and the car threw a rod. We are lookg for a loan. We need a vehicle. Military does not have a program that will help our situation and I was rold that there is private student loans you can take out and do not have to pay for until after graduation. I probably filled out a dozen appicarions each one denied for credit. Because we live on base and my mom takes child support we have just enough to make it. My mom lives on unemplyment so we buy the girls things they need if my mother can not on top of childsupport. We are supposed to be seeing them as often as possible but houston is a 31/2 drive and we have no vehicle There are not that many people out there who takes payments when they selling to a stranger but if there is someone out there that is selling a vehicle to negociate payments we would ror knows of any way we can get the money to buy a little used car. so we could get through this. We are not pefect but we love and will/have do what is nessessary to bring them home. We got base housin and so far we have been really blessed with furniture for their home elvuation. I have spent almost the last 24 hours trying to find a miracle because we are so close but God is everywhere and sees everything I beleive this was his will and also thank God there is skype because I get o see their faces
We really cannot afford more payments but we will do what is nessassary to get by. it gets harder everyday but if it means mt angels home with mommy God BLess you
You are not alone, my Mother needs help as well and dont know where to turn except strangers as well. She is in the same situation and does not want to lose her home.
The V.A. will only help you once. They will than tell you that you are on your own. It's a really bad feeling for US. We trust in the V.A. , Jag and the Army. But, they won't help you anymore.
Help what do you do when as a soldier you are denied the right to have medical care needed to help you have a stable life, by being given a Written Direct Order from my chain of command that ordered me not to go to my Outside Doctor approved by the Military and the Hospital, which I requested because the Military Doctor was violating my HIPPA(a mental health doctor) and telling my Commander my business without my say so. And then the military refused to rate me in my MED Board for the disorder Completely ignoring the regulation about the 8 year rule and now they are trying to push it under the rug again. Well enough is enough I was raped in Iraq and when I tried to get help I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and then to add injury to insult they tried to chapter me for Adjustment Disorder which I fought but the Military has just went in and changed the way they do things so they can screw Soldiers and Veterans I tried getting help (even wrote the President's Advisors and I can't even get a reply). Please someone help me because I choose to serve my Country and from what I can tell the ONLY WAY to get help from MY COUNTRY is to move to another COUNTRY or BE A BIG BUSINESS. Don't think just cause they make it look good on TV that the Military is taking care of Soldiers THEY ARE NOT and then yesterday I got told to file it with VA. So wake up America I am an African-American female, that was diagnosed with cancer in 2009, since coming back from Iraq I now have Bipolar Disorder, PTSD,Asthma, Severe Headaches, Allergies, Broke my wrist and 6 years later still have days were I can't even use my arm. this is what the US Army did for me put me on TDRL, no exams for 5 years (THEY BLAME ME) mind you I have been repeatedly hospitalized for everything Bipolar Disorder, Cancer, etc. in a VA hospital but the Govt. says they didn't know where I was(RIGHT sounds like and excuse to me). so basically the military can violate all your rights and instead of protecting you they cover up their Shit and protect the ones that hurt Soldiers Mentally and Physically AND I CAN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE IT IS ME VS THE US MILITARY. Thanks to my country for destroying my life by sending me to war and now you help the poeple you sent me to fight but DONT HELP ME.

I'm a missionary who travels to different places telling ppl about Jesus and i work to support myself but since the economy has crashed work has been few and far between so means of supports and housing has been long since gone and i have no licenses to drive. so no car So if you have any suggestions other than get a job I did or go stay at a shelter, and you've never stayed in one yourself and don't know anything about them. Except what you hear keep your comment to yourself!
I've done the shelter thing they are not at all what they are cracked up to be! It's really all about your ss# so we can use it for the next 5 years so we as a shelter can get federal funding. I want The Christians to start standing up and doing what Jesus and the disciples did they lived in community and helped each other one was a cook another a tent maker etc.. so each one did their part so noone had need!
My military base legal dept told us that SCRA is supposed to allow 9 months that a service member had following a deployment to not be foreclosed upon, that is 9 months following active duty deployment. That is incorrect that it only gives protection while you are on active duty, in plainly says, "or within 9 months after leaving active duty"
The new bill through Obama is now being called "Helping Heroes Keep Their Homes Act.
However it seems that most banks are not following it, that is why Chase just recently got sued over it.
It is section 533 of SCRA.
The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) was established to protect military personel serving on active duty from certain debt, ie: providing lower fixed interest on credit card debt, the option of being released from lease agreements and not being foreclosed upon while they were active duty and not available to defend their interests here at home. It does not offer any protection once someone is discharged.
My husband just returned from Afghanistan. he was a reservist pulled for active duty and his job laid him off while he was deployed. Now he came back from overseas and unemployment is not enough for payment and our lender Calvet says their is not any protection for us to get on back on our feet and they want to foreclose.
I thought the SCRA would help us not to lose our home right away but it sounds like it doesn't really help people. Not sure what if anything I can do now. Anybody know about this?
I am trying to find a source for construction loan financing. I live near a military base that is undergoing expansion and will be adding several thousand people to the payroll in the near future. I own some lots within 10 miles of the military base that are paid for but I have not been able to get construction financing for spec. houses. Are there government loans or grants avaiable?
I am trying to get some kind of financial help. I am a widow and have never asked anyone for any help before, but after losing my husband and several other family members within a 7 month period, I am having severe health issues, have been out of work for almost a year, have filed for disability, but employer has not sent back form, so am about to lose my home. I am behind in mortgage and am just trying to keep it. I am embarrassed to have to ask strangers for help, but have no one here to help me. Even though my husband served his country for almost half his life, earned over 13 medals, the military added insult to injury by first telling me I would get help and then refused to help. I am desparate.
I have a few scholarships on my blog pages if you would want to take a look. http:/Schmidty.Aidpage.com click on blog and then look for the postings. There are a few in there that come close, I think. You are using $.50 words in a $.10 convrsation and you kinda lost me.
Take a look it's free. May god Bless
Hi, I am a 19 year old white male and I've recently begun thinking about joining the military, mostly for education, and as I can see we have a great deal of active duty servicemen/women as well as some well-distinguished veterans coming through this site on a daily basis, I decided to reach out to them. I just had a few questions regarding enlistment... please bear with me.
I have been doing significant research and crawling the web for any data on the possibility of achieving a higher level of education in the military. My entire high school career was preoccupied with AFJROTC and HOSA, and all of my free time was dedicated to studying the field of Quantum Mechanics. One would think that with such notable accolades it would be no contest as to weather or not I received a full-ride scholarship. I did not. As luck would have it, the only people in that backwater high school that got anywhere were the 2010 class of sycophantic liars. I adamantly refused to associate with that kind of scum. As such, the only chance of NOT having to grovel at my grandparents' feet for a decent education became enlistment. The only problem is, even with a retired AF Colonel and Chief Master Sergeant working with me, I still have no true insight pertaining to the actual educational route within the military. I understand that the AF places you into AF Community College... but how far does that get you? An associates degree in Trajectory Physics followed by 8 years of service in a morbidly narrow job field? I'd rather go into debt... What I'm looking for is advanced Theoretical Physics or Genetics/Molecular Biology degrees, and I'd be willing to do anything to get them. I understand that such self serving, seemingly egotistical thoughts come off as entirely pretentious and possibly rude, and that I "have no right to say such arrogant things, especially at my young age" and "should be glad to accept whatever job placement I am assigned", but the cruel hard truth is that I really don't need the military... I COULD go into hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt and get where I need to be, and still be at the same level of research during and upon completion of the degrees, but without contributing anything towards the government or this great country. With the overwhelming amount of open researching positions available in projects like "Blue Angel" or "SyNAPSE", it becomes apparent that the government NEEDS qualified individuals to work for them. But will they train the people they need to fill those positions? That's my question. I can't accept something as general as "Load Master" or "Flight Systems Engineer", which are incredible careers in their own right, but entirely unacceptable given what I want to do with my life. I am more than willing to dedicate my entire existence to serving the American Government. I simply wish to do it in the field of my choosing, which doesn't appear ostentatious to me at all, I only request the right to do what I choose to with my life... This being said, if you could enlighten me as to which route I should take to at least make PROGRESS towards my goals, I would greatly appreciate it. As I said before, I am entirely at a loss as to which branch to join, and which way to go within that branch. I will be taking University Transferable community college courses until I can get this all worked out. I would greatly appreciate any and ALL feedback. Even if it is degrading criticism, at least it shows that you read the post, and I thank you for doing even that much.
Thank you.

Oliveeue, what a great idea! I will check out your ebay site. Keep up the good work and hope everything works out for your boyfriend and daughter. We need to all remember, even times of trials, that God has perfect timing, even when we try to rush him at times, which I am guilty of at times. God Bless. PPW
Heroes Amongst Us is an organization that I started March 26, 2010. What our mission is, is to help our soldiers that are returning from war that have been injured or just need a hand up.
My hope and desire is to keep this organization non-profit. To be able to keep all expenses to an absolute minimum. PayPal at this point charges 4% on every donation and that is our only expense to date.
Our focus is on paying their rent or mortgage up for 1 year and/or paying their car off. When they return home they have all the stresses of daily life back whether they are ready or not. Some Vets are wounded and have to deal with the medical issues of trying to get better.
With having their rent and/or car paid off those are two major expenses that they don't have to worry about for the next year and it allows the soldier to breath a little.
I started this organization when I watched my boyfriend struggle to return from war injured with a broken neck only to find out his wife was leaving him for a man that she met online, he needed surgery for his broken neck, and he was going to have his family pulled apart.
I watched him struggle for a good year to pay the mortgage and his car payment. It was a struggle to raise his daughter and worry about all the normal day to day issues that you and I deal with. They feel inadequate and feel worthless because they feel they cannot provide. My boyfriend was medically discharged from the U.S. Army in 2009 and tried to go back to civilian life but was very difficult transition. He now attends automotive school and is able to attend because of the G.I. Bill.
Lets help these soldiers get back on their feet and show them that we appreciate their sacrifices.
We are on eBay. search for member - oliveeue, at www.eBay.com.
The VA claims that they are no longer representing clients as advocates w/their mortgage companies but have instead provided the mortgage companies a financial incentive to work it out with the home owner. I would suggest you ask the VA what to refer to their incentive program as to determine if the Wells Fargo contact person is aware of it.
have tried almost every thing too and can't get help! Not from Wells Fargo, not the VA no organizations either don't "qualify" or they are out of money. My husband is a Veteran, and we have a 2yr old son, Wells Fargo has already set the sale date to July 16th unless we come up with 5,000 even then I am sure they will hike up that amount. money guzzeling pukes. Claim they want to help but only care about the money they can make! This is sickening!
I read this earlier today and I just wanted to post it so that everyone would see it! Its heart breaking so grab a tissue!
Will You give this to my Daddy?
As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support 'Red Fridays.'
Last week I was in Atlanta , Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed One of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.
Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.
When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and Cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families.
Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal.
Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our Service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said 'hi..'
The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her...
The young soldier, who didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.
The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter's name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.
When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second.. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.
After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, 'I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you.' He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying 'your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon.'
The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event.
As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around, there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in one last act of selflessness turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney with a tear rolling down his cheek.
We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's good to be an American.
RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the 'silent majority'. We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers.
Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday - and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red.
By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers.
If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED. The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is....We need your support and your prayers.
Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example.
IF YOU AGREE -- THEN SEND THIS ON.
IF YOU COULD CARE LESS, THEN HIT THE DELETE BUTTON --- IT IS YOUR CHOICE
Thank you Emil for sharing these three wonderful programs for the women and men returning from Irag and Afghanistan. They deserve more help than they had been getting.
I was reallly touched by all three especially the Home Base Program.
I was somewhat surprised to read our soliders returning are having more problems than the ones returning from Vietnam -how sad.
On brighter note there are these programs to help them as they deserve this and more.
The Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2) is the official U.S. Army program that assists and advocates for severely wounded, injured, and ill Soldiers, Veterans, and their Families, wherever they are located, for as long as it takes. AW2 provides individualized support to this unique population of Soldiers, who were injured or became ill during their service in the Global War on Terrorism.
Wounded Soldiers are eligible for a wide array of benefits in order to help them recover physically, prepare financially and build their skills for a rewarding career. AW2 Advocates will ensure that AW2 Soldiers, Veterans, and their Families are connected with these benefits and services, which span:
The Boston Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital will announce today the launch of a $6 million program to treat the rising number of men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries and to encourage reluctant veterans to seek services.
The players hope to take a crucial role in trying to diminish the stigma many veterans feel about asking for help for a mental disorder. Pitcher Tim Wakefield has filmed the first of a series of planned public service announcements in which he implores veterans to get treatment. “Being on a team means never having to face a challenge alone,’’ he says.
The unusual Home Base Program will include a clinic at Mass. General to evaluate and treat veterans and to counsel family members, who can suffer when a veteran abuses alcohol or has angry outbursts. It will also provide training for psychiatrists in the community and expand research into post-traumatic stress and combat brain injuries.
The Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) has founded a national suicide prevention hotline to ensure veterans in emotional crisis have free, 24/7 access to trained counselors.
To operate the Veterans Hotline, the VA partnered with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
Veterans can call the Lifeline number, 1-800-273-TALK (8255), and press "1" to be routed to the Veterans Suicide Prevention Hotline.
I have run into the same stone wall. I am a disabled Viet vet declared unemployable by the VA. We have made some bad financial decisions and have also been taken advantage of. I trying to get a loan modification fron Wells Farge, I have been tolf they can do nothing because I am current on my payments. When I tolfd them that the well had run dry and we cannot continue to make these mortgage payments at 9.5 % interet, they said there was nothing they could do unless we were in default. The VA and Hud offered no assistance in getting a loan modification.
I accept my responsibility for my bad decision, but these people need to stop climing they are offering assistance. They claim to not want foreclosed properties bu refuse to do anythin to stop the customer slide into the abyss.
This is nothing but short sighted greed finaced by bailout money these unethical basrards took from the Federal government. These execs are short-sighted leeches bleeding the country dry.
I called this number and followed the prompts.. then the woman told me that VA does not have the authority to help in any way, even if you have a VA guaranteed home loan. She said they stopped doing that a year ago, February, which is funny to me because this announcement (which is also posted on the va home loans site) is dated in June, 2008.
I am the spouse of a veteran with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and mother of a 16 year old son. Since my husband has been home from Afghanistan six years ago he has become violent, angry, and distant from our family. Two weeks ago he threatened to kill me and I called the police (only because the VA counselor told me to do so) and received a temporary restraining order. If I would have known that this would not get him/us more help I wouldn't have done it. Now he is out of the home, took all the finances, and I am left with the house, bills, car payment, no food, no gas, no nothing. I had to, temporarily, send my son to go live with his father out of state. I didn't want him to see everything and be here when the house gets emptied; not to mention I don't have the finances to take care of him right now. The gas got shut off last week and I had to use everything I had left in the bank to get it turned back on.
I have been in counseling since February for depression, anxiety, and possibly secondary PTSD myself. His anger has nearly caused me to have a nervous breakdown. I have Rhumetoid Arthritis and Fibromyalga so I have only been working part time for the past few years (12 hours a week at the store he manages). I also have to have surgery on the nerves in both my feet. How am I suppose to look for a full time job when I am suppose to have this surgery, end up riddled in pain after a short few hours of work, and have no gas for the car?
I have tried to get help from the Veteran's Association but have been told that spouses don't get help, there aren't any programs. If he were still in the military I would but he got out last year; he couldn't handle it anymore.
My husband is mentally ill and no matter how much I try to talk to him about the help he and I need, and the counseling we should be in together, he doesn't want to hear it. He just left me stranded and I have no clue of what to do. I love my husband and want to help him/us but right now I am having a difficult time helping myself. I worry they will take the car, forclose on the house; and when he gets better what home will my soldier have to come home to?
Is there anyone out there who can help me, whether it be adivce or financial?
A national anthem is a patriotic song that honors the history, customs, and struggles of a country.
The National Anthem of the United States is The Star Spangled Banner.
The lyrics to The Star Spangled Banner were written by Francis Scott Key in 1814.
Key was a lawyer, author, district attorney, and amateur poet.
He wrote the words during the War of 1812.
The War of 1812 was between the United States and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
Key wrote the words in response to seeing the bombing of American forces at Fort McHenry during the Battle of Baltimore.
He wrote them in a poem called The Defense of Fort McHenry.
The Battle of Baltimore happened in Maryland.
The "star spangled banner" in the song refers to the American flag, which has stars.
The word "spangled" means twinkling and the word "banner" means flag.
The Star Spangled Banner was adopted in 1916 as the American National Anthem by an executive order from President Woodrow Wilson.
In 1934, it was adopted by a congressional resolution, which was signed by President Herbert Hoover.
Operation Red Friday..... Last week I was in Atlanta, Georgia attending a conference. While I was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.
Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camo's; as they began heading to their gate everyone (well almost everyone) was abruptly to their feet with their hands waving and cheering. When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and cheered for it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red blooded American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their families.
Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal. Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our service men and women a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old, ran up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said "hi," the little girl then she asked him if he would give something to her daddy for her. The young soldier, he didn’t look any older than maybe 22 himself, said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.
The mother of the little girl, who said her daughters name was Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her daughter, Courtney, missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up. When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the other servicemen pulled out a military looking walkie-talkie. They started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.
After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to Courtney, bent down and said this to her, "I spoke to your daddy and he told me to give this to you." He then hugged this little girl that he had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying "your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and he is coming home very soon."
The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young soldier stood to his feet he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event unfolded.
Red Friday
Just keeping you "in the loop" so you'll know what's going on in case this takes off.
RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the "silent majority". We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no liberal media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions.
Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops.
Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that..
It will not be long before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once resilient" majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on.
The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can we do to make things better for you?" is...We need your support and your prayers.
Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday.
WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED---- SO WEAR RED! --- MAY GOD HELP AMERICA TO BECOME ONE NATION, UNDER GOD?
HAVE A GREAT DAY.
pass the word around let us all support our troops.
Sorry to hear that you will be losing your job and thank you both for your service for our country. My husband is also deployed right now and we have 2 young kids as well. I'm sure you'll find a job soon. In the meantime, I would work on a budget for the income that your husband brings in to cover all the basics. It takes some sacrifices because we all know that military pay isn't the best but there are plenty of military families who live comfortable lives off one income. I know that your family will make it through this. Take care and God bless.
Do not despair or accept depression as a way of life. When Joseph was young, God gave him the dream of being a great leader. Yet many difficult things happened that seemed to completely contradict that vision. Undoubtedly, Joseph must have wondered if what he had dreamed was a mistake. Thankfully, God used those hard things in Joseph's life to prepare him to be Pharaoh's top adviser. You also will have experiences that seemingly distance you from your dreams. However, if you stick close to God, he will give you success. Today, take heart that your experiences are not a change of course. Rather, they are simply an intermission to the great dreams God is making real in you. God blessed you with a beautiful son ~ love him, teach him, enjoy his youth. When he is grown, you will wish you had these days back to hold him, rock him and sing him to sleep.
Have a God Blessed day today and everyday to come!
